What does it do?

Google Calendar

What does it do?

It allows you to keep track of appointments and deadlines.

What can I use it for?

You can use this app to add times, dates and places for appointments and attach images and maps. You can also create revision timetables and set reminders for assessment deadlines.

Forest

What does it do?

Forest is a motivational time management app that stops you using your phone by blocking access to other apps and websites you put on your blacklist for a fixed amount of time. The app grows trees all the time you are not using your phone and you can save your progress so that eventually you have a full forest.

What can I use it for?

Forest helps you combat procrastination and distraction, and be present to your study and your learning. The timer feature allows you to break your study into discrete chunks. If you are easily distracted by notifications, news, social media and the like, this app is particularly motivating because it turns your bad online habits into a game where you can grow time management skills.

Google Keep

What does it do? Organisation tool, you can add notes, photos and audio to keep. Includes a post it note system.

What can I use it for? Useful for tracking and keeping on top of all tasks, from personal to academic life. You can create lists to tick off when completed as well as adding details about times, dates and places where needed. These can also be shared with others which can help with accountability. There is a tagging and colour coding system to enable distinction between personal and academic tasks and you can archive lists when completed but they are not completely lost in case you need to go back to them. Google Keep can be synced across devices to enable on the go editing.

What does it do? Aims to help you form healthy habits and keep you accountable through useful tools. It can be beneficial for time management, productivity and increasing general well being.

What can I use it for? Helps you to build positive habits and set and reach your goals. Enables you to track your progress and add a reward system when you meet your targets.

PowerPoint Rehearsal

What does it do?

Allows you to record and time yourself delivering a presentation.

What can I use it for?

If you need to build and improve your presentation skills, this is a great way to practise and feel confident when you then have to deliver to a live audience.

Presenter Coach

What does it do?

It enables you to asses your presentation skills, whether your pace is suitable and detects if you are talking for too long on one slide, or simply reading the slide out loud.

What can I use it for?

A great tool to improve your presentation skills and ensure that you are engaging your audience and not just reading the slides aloud. You can also ensure that your timings work for the task in hand.
